Why Build exists

While building four products, I kept running into the same problems. I spent too long on small decisions, invested in features before knowing whether people needed them, and sometimes realized halfway through that the product needed to change.

The useful lessons were rarely obvious at the beginning. They became clearer after building, shipping, and seeing what people actually used.

Build is where I document those lessons with the context behind them, while they're still fresh.

What each breakdown includes

Every episode focuses on one part of building a product. I'll explain the situation, the decision I had to make, what I chose, and what happened afterwards.

When it's useful, I'll include examples from the products I've built, along with the tools, links, and resources connected to that decision.

The goal is to give you enough context to make your own decision, not hand you a generic formula.

How to use the series

The short videos introduce the topic. These pages are the reference you can return to when you're working through the same part of your own product.

You do not need to follow everything in order. Start with the episode that matches the problem in front of you, take what fits, and leave what does not.

If something is unclear, ask in the comments on the episode. Those questions will help shape what I explain next.
